Keith has been informed by the Government that it has received requests for more than £1.3 billion for over 3800 projects for this year’s bidding round for school improvements. Following their assessment of applications, they have announced £466 million for 1,435 projects at 1,184 academies and sixth-form colleges.
Lord Nash the Education Minister has informed Keith, that six schools from Leicester East were successful: Krishna Avanti Primary School, Northfield Hose Primary Academy, Rushey Mead Academy, Willowbrook Primary Academy, Thurnby Lodge Primary Academy.
The aim of CIF is keeping academy and sixth-form college buildings safe and in good working order.
CIF also supports a small proportion expansion projects for Ofsted-rated good or outstanding academies and sixth-form colleges that need to expand their existing facilities and/or floor space to either increase the number of admissions in the main year of entry or address overcrowding.
Keith said: ” This is very good news for the Schools in Leicester and we welcome the decision made by the Condition Improvement Fund. I look forward to visiting the schools again.”
