New residents parking scheme for Alderton Close

Posted on April 11th, 2017 in Local News

Keith has been informed by Leicester City Council that the introduction of the residence parking scheme on Alderton Close is now nearing completion. The scheme will take effect from 1st May 2017 providing the road signage and ‘no loading’ road marking are in place.

Please note, if you park a vehicle on street in Alderton Close without displaying a valid permit from 1st May 2017 onwards, you may receive a Penalty Charge Notice. Only permit parking (zone G) will be allowed in the residential section of Alderton Close. You can still use your own driveway to park without a permit, as long as you do not overlap the footway or the carriageway.

A residents permit costs 25 a year.

Hopefully this will resolve the issue of the parking of vehicles in the area which has caused so much distress to local residents. I want to thank local Councillors Piara Clair, Rita Patel and Ross Willmott for all their help. Special thanks goes to Mr Nik Pattni, Mr Kam Kanabar, Mr Kit Kotak and Mr Jat Parmar for their help.”
