On Thursday 14th August, Keith visited the first supermarket diabetes fixture in Waitrose’s Wolverhampton branch.
“I was delighted to see the country’s first diabetic fixture.
In May in my 10 Minute Rule Bill, I spoke of the urgent need for the introduction of measures of this kind for diabetics. Those with and without diabetes will benefit greatly from the grouping together of low sugar or no sugar products in this way. It will play a crucial role in helping people to monitor and reduce their sugar intake.
I urge shops in Leicester to follow Waitrose’s lead, and do more for diabetics through the introduction of sugar free fixtures and increased information on the condition and on healthy eating.”
